Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant 30 days ordinary leave (parole) to the petitioner's father Thambu @ Karthick (Male/44 years) (Prisoner No.14616), who is confined in Central Prison, Cuddalore, based upon the application of the petitioner dated 18.10.2021, 03.01.2022 and 07.03.2022.

[Made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J] Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.

2. The petitioner's father is confined in Central Prison, Cuddalore, as a convict prisoner. He has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He had undergone 31⁄2 years already. The petitioner's grandmother is said to be terminally ill (suffering from cancer). An application has already been submitted for grant of ordinary leave. The first respondent is directed to pass orders on the said application for grant of ordinary leave within a period of two weeks.

Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
