This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner and renew the Passport bearing No. Y 714267.

When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing on behalf of the second respondent would submit that upon completion of investigation in Crime No.686 of 2005, final report has been filed and the same is taken on file in C.C.No.2591 of 2017 on the file of Metropolitan Magistrate, CCB & CBCID Cases, Egmore, Chennai and trial has also been commenced.

Mr.K.Subbu Ranga Bharathi, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the Regional Passport Authority, would submit that since trial has commenced, the petitioner has to approach the concerned trial court as per the notification dated 25.08.1993 issued by Ministry of External Affairs in G.S.R.570(E). 4.

At this juncture learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty to approach the concerned trial court.

In the aforestated circumstances, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned trial Court for appropriate relief. No costs.
