ORDER

The petitioner seeks for cancellation of the gift deed dated 24.05.2024 through this writ petition. The law is now well settled that the Registration Department cannot cancel a registered document. Hence, the prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted as it is not maintainable before the Writ Court. The only remedy available to the petitioner is to approach the competent Civil Court by letting in oral and documentary evidence.

2. For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent Civil Court for cancellation of the alleged gift deed dated 24.05.2024 by letting in oral and documentary evidence. No Costs.
