Mr.K.Baskar in both cases C O M M O N J U D G M E N T (Judgment of the Court was delivered by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) These civil miscellaneous appeals arisen out of the common award passed by V Additional Family Court, Chennai dated 03.01.2018 made in O.P.Nos.4743 and 568 of 2014, 1/5

2. By O.P.No.4743 of 2014, the husband filed a petition for divorce and by O.P.No.568 of 2014, the wife filed a petition for restitution of conjugal rights.

3. O.P.No.4743 of 2014 was allowed and O.P.No.568 of 2014 was dismissed by the order impugned of the Court below, dated 03.01.2018.

4. At one point of time, these civil miscellaneous appeals have been referred by us to the Mediation Centre to explore the possibility of settling these matters amicably between the parties.

5. Pursuant to which, the Mediation Centre attached with this Court has completed the mediation and during the mediation, it is settled between the parties and therefore, the settlement agreement has been entered into between the parties dated 27.06.2025 which has also been forwarded by the Mediation Centre along with their mediation report dated 01.07.2025.

6. Today when these cases are taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for both sides submitted that, the matters have been amicably settled to the terms of agreement dated 27.06.2025. We have gone through the same. 2/5

One of the main agreement between the parties is that, the husband would pay a sum of Rs.10,50,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only) as a permanent alimony to the wife and today both the husband and wife, i.e., parties are present before this Court along with their respective counsel. A demand draft for the said sum had been paid by the respondent / husband through the learned counsel appearing for the respondent who has handed over the same to the appellant / wife. Therefore, the settlement has been executed now as per the agreed terms of the agreement dated 27.06.2025.

8. Recording the aforesaid development as well as the statement which has been reduced in writing by way of settlement agreement dated 27.06.2025, we are inclined to dispose of these civil miscellaneous appeals. Accordingly, both these Civil Miscellaneous Appeals are disposed of. The settlement agreement dated 27.06.2025 shall form part of this order. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
