The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aa), 4(1)(h), 4(1-A)(ii) of TNP Act, in Crime No.112 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 600 packets of Karnataka liquor. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is no way connected with the alleged offence. Hence he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 600 packets of Karnataka liquor. He would further submit

that there are two previous cases are pending as against the petitioner and hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the allegations and also the bad antecedent of the petitioner and it is stated that the custodial interrogation of the petitioners is essential, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 12.06.2023 drl
