Prayer: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent to register an FIR on the complaint of the petitioner dated 12.06.2021 and ensure that the investigation is being done is a fair and proper manner within a reasonable time framed fixed by this Court. ORDER

The petitioner lodged a complaint on 12.06.2021 to the Inspector of Police, Selaiyur Police Station stating that a compound wall has been demolished by the rival group in his property. The said complaint was sent through speed post and it was delivered on 14.06.2021. The Inspector of Police, Selaiyur called the petitioner for enquiry on 16.06.2021. During enquiry, the petitioner stated that the property is situated within the jurisdiction of Peerkankaranai Police Station and he has been advised to lodge a complaint with Peerkankaranai Police Station.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will take steps to lodge a complaint with the Peerkankaranai Police Station.

3.The learned Government Advocate shall advise the Selaiyur Police to forward the complaint dt. 12.06.2021, to the Peerkankaranai Police Station.

4.On the point of jurisdiction, the police who receive the complaint, has to forward or transfer the complaint to the jurisdictional police. In this case, it is now Peerkankarai Police to act on the complaint.
