... Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying to give police protection to the petitioner company namely Thiripura Chits Pvt. Ltd., company having office at No.36, Jeenis Raod, 2nd floor, Saidapet, Chennai-600 015 and also at various parts of Tamil Nadu in order to run the company peacefully.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this petition is to give police protection to the petitioner company namely Thiripura Chits Pvt. Ltd., company having office at No.36, Jeenis Raod, 2nd floor, Saidapet, Chennai-600 015 and also at various parts of Tamil Nadu in order to run the company peacefully.

2. The petitioner, who has been arrayed as an accused in Crime No.12 of 2017, has now filed this petition seeking police protection stating that the investors are trying to ghearing over the Head Office and pressurizing seeking refund of their investment.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it is their intention to settle to all the investors and that they are in the process of collecting the amounts from the Branch Office.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that as on date, the situation is peaceful and there is no such threat.

5. While that being so, it would not be appropriate to direct the respondents to extend police protection. However, if the petitioner apprehends any threat from his investors and from general public, it is always open to the petitioner to approach the fifth respondent police seeking for protection. On such application being made, the respondent shall endeavour to consider it on the same day itself and pass appropriate orders on his own merits.

With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
