Respondents PRAYER:- Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to call for the records of the ninth respondent, namely paragraph 5 of the press release in Se.Ku.No.42, dated 07.05.2022 issued on behalf of the Government and the Government Order issued by the third respondent in G.O.(Ms.).No.53, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection (B1) Department, dated 09.05.2022 and quash the same and issue consequential direction directing the respondents 1 to 4 to take steps to purchase 40,000 Metric Tons of Rice for sending the same to the people Sri Lanka from the respondents 5 and 6 and further direct the respondent No.7 to conduct enquiry as to the decision taken to purchase rice at the exorbitant price and to take appropriate legal action on the erring officials in accordance with law.
