O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the 1st respondent to issue a passport in favour of petitioner.

2. According to the petitioner, now the petitioner has applied for issuance of passport. However, the application of the petitioner was not considered by the 1st respondent on the ground that four criminal cases are pending against the petitioner. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for 2nd respondent would submit that, pending Writ Petition, even though two notices have been issued, the petitioner did not appear before the authority. Hence, his application has been closed.

4. Heard and considered rival submissions of learned counsel appearing for both sides and perused the records carefully.

5. Considering the fact that, the petitioner's application has been closed, the prayer sought by the petitioner cannot be granted. Hence, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, if the petitioner aggrieved over the closure of his application, liberty is granted to the petitioner to challenge the same in the manner known to law. No costs.
