Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the respondent relating to his proceedings bearing Na.Ka.No. SC1/2114/2000, dated 19.3.2010, quash the same and direct the respondent to allow the petitioners and other tennis players to use the land in S.No.4242/2 as Tennis Court.

Heard Mr.I.Abrar Md.Abdullah, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mrs.Karthikaa Ashok, learned Standing counsel for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

2. This writ petition has been filed challenging the order of the respondent dated 19.3.2010, in and by which, the petitioners were directed to hand over the possession of the land measuring an extent of 2098 sq.ft situated at S.No.4242/2, Mylapore Village, within a period of ten days.

3. The case of the petitioners is that they are the lessees under the respondent and they have been in continuous possession https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of the property in dispute, since 1970 and rents have been paid regularly. While so, the impugned order came to be passed without providing an opportunity to the petitioners.

4. The learned Standing counsel for the respondent submitted that by the impugned order, the petitioners were directed to deliver possession within a period of ten days, failing which an action will be taken in accordance with law and that the respondent would follow the process while taking possession from the petitioners.

5. Recording the submissions made by the learned Standing counsel for the respondent, this writ petition is closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
