O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents and with their consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for disposal.

2. This writ petition has been filed by P.Yuvraj, seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the Deputy Commissioner of Transport Department, Villupuram, the 2nd respondent herein, to dispose of his statutory appeal dated 14-07-2015, within a stipulated time.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that on seizure of his driving licence by the jurisdictional police officer in respect of an accident which took place on 23.05.2015, the same was handed over to the 3rd respondent, who has also passed a final order suspending his licence for about six months by order dated 29.06.2015. Aggrieved against the said order, the petitioner has preferred an appeal on 14.07.2015 before the 2nd respondent, as the driving licence of the petitioner is required to eke out his livelihood in the 4th respondent Corporation and he is curiously awaiting for early disposal. However, there is no sign for the early disposal of the same. Therefore, the petitioner has come to this Court.

Without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court, considering the limited prayer made by the petitioner, hereby directs the 2nd respondent, Deputy Commissioner of the Transport Department, Villupuram, to consider and pass orders on the pending appeal of the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
