O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned refusal check slip dated 18.03.2025 issued by the third respondent and for a consequential direction to the third respondent to register the settlement deed dated 18.03.2025 executed by the petitioner in favour of his wife.

2. Heard Ms.S.Sengkodi, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

3. The impugned refusal check slip has been issued in exercise of power under Rule 55-A of the Registration Rules. This rule has already been held to be ultra vires by the Apex Court in the judgment in K.Gopi v. Sub-Registrar and others [2025 (2) CTC 777]. In view of the above, the impugned refusal check slip dated 18.03.2025 issued by the third respondent is hereby quashed and there shall be a direction to the third respondent to register the settlement deed, if it is otherwise in order. 2/4
