ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to the 3rd respondent to provide police protection to the life and limb of the petitioners by considering representations dated 04.04.2023 and 11.04.2023.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that, private respondents started conducting temple in Thiruppeyar Eri at Thiruppeyar Village. Petitioners made complaint to the authorities. Therefore, VAO instructed them not to make constructions in the encroached Eri. Angered at this, private respondents made physical assault against the petitioner. In this regard, complaint dated 03.04.2023 was made to the respondent police, but, no action was taken against the accused. In the said

circumstances, petitioner gave representation seeking police protection for life and limb on 04.04.2023 and 11.04.2023. However, so far, no order is passed, necessitating the filing of this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, based on the complaint given by the 4th respondent against the petitioners, eqnruiy was conducted in C.S.R.No.133 of 2023 was conducted and the same was closed. Similarly, based on the complaint given by the petitioners, enquiry is pending in C.S.R.No.134 of 2023.

In the light of the submission made by the learned counsel for the parties and the apprehension of the petitioners for his life and limb at the hands of the private respondents, this Court directs the respondents 1 to 3 to consider petitioners' representation dated 04.04.2023 and 11.04.2023 taking into consideration of the threat perception and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.

5. With the above observations and directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
