This criminal revision case is filed as against the order dated 29.04.2022 passed in Crl.M.P. No. 70 of 2022 in Crl.A. No. 1 of 2022 by the Additional District and Sessions Court (FTC), Kanchipuram, whereby the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kanchipuram, has turned down the request of the petitioner for extension of time to deposit 20% of the fine/compensation amount as mandated under Section 148 of Negotiable Instruments Act.

When the matter is taken up for arguments today, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that if two more weeks time is granted, the petitioner would comply with the order passed by the learned Sessions Judge.

Considering the nature of relief prayed for by the learned counsel for the petitioner now, as this Court intends to modify/vary the order of the Trial Court, the Criminal Revision Case is proceeded with and disposed of without notice to the respondent as hereunder:

"The time granted by the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kanchipuram, to deposit 20% of the compensation/fine amount shall stand extended by a further a period of two weeks from today."

Except for the above said modification, the other findings in the order of the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kanchipuram, are confirmed. The Criminal Revision case is disposed of accordingly.
