By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to respondent no.5 to 14 is dispensed with.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representations dated 22.10.2020, 20.02.2025 and 24.02.2025 and thereby to issue patta in favour of the 1st petitioner and his brother namely Ramanna, based on the Settlement Deed No.732 of 1966 dated 11.04.1966 on the file of the SubRegister Office, Maduranthagam, for the property to an extent of 0.88 cents, bearing Survey No.13/6 (Now New Survey No.407/1 to 17 situated at Arasar Kovil Village, Maduranthagam Taluk, Chengalpattu District.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioners had made representations dated 22.10.2020, 20.02.2025 and 24.02.2025 before the 2nd and 3rd respondents seeking patta for the above mentioned property. However, the said representations were not considered so far by the 2nd and 3rd Respondent. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.

At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 4 that the representations seeking patta made by the petitioners would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the 2nd and 3rd respondent, to consider the representations made by the petitioners on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties/stake holders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
