Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent herein to disconnect the Electricity Service Connection No.511-007-343 standing in the name of Kothandapani from the petitioner's site, namely, Eastern side of West Street, Kaspa Tirukkoilur, Ward 5, Tirukkoilur Panchayat Board, comprised in R.S.No.238/1A/ 1A/1A/1 re-numbered as survey No.930/4.

This writ petition has been filed for issue of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner, wherein the petitioner has sought for the disconnection of the electricity service connection standing in the name of one Kothandapani.
2. Heard Mr.S,Sarath Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Swami Subramanian, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and perused the materials placed before this Court. 2/4
3. The case of the petitioner is that the electricity service connection stands in the name of one Kothandapani who already had a service connection and he died in the year 2005. After his demise, the 4 th respondent and his wife, through an alleged fabricated lease agreement dated 17.12.2011 are running a welding business in the property with the same electricity service connection.
4. The petitioner gave a representation dated 18.02.2021 to the 1 st respondent to disconnect the electricity service connection. Pursuant to the same, the st respondent issued a notice and thereafter, there was absolutely no action. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition came to be filed before this Court.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the 1 st respondent to deal with the representation given by the petitioner on 18.02.2021, after affording an opportunity to the 4 th respondent and 5 th respondent and a decision shall be taken within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. 02.06.2025 gya 3/4
