The mother of the petitioner, who was employed in the Institute of Mental Health, Kilpauk, Chennai -10 as Grade II Female Assistant, died on 28.11.2009. Hence, the petitioner made representations dated 12.08.2011 and 12.03.2014 seeking appointment on compassionate grounds.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

In view of the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 12.03.2014 relating to compassionate appointment on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
