O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the 3rd respondent/Registrar, Thiruvallur University, Serkkadu, Vellore, to consider the petitioner representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 23.05.2018. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The representation submitted by the writ petitioner is in relation to her appointment to the post of Superintendent. The writ petitioner participated in the process of selection and her name was kept in the waiting list. Mere selection or inclusion of the name of the writ petitioner in the waiting list would not confer any right to file a writ petition and seek for an appointment even to issue a direction to the respondents to consider her representation and the petitioner has to establish her legal right.

However, this Court is of the considered opinion that if the appointment candidates had not joined in the post, the waiting list can be released and then a decision in this regard to be taken by the competitive authorities. Thus, mere selection or inclusion of the name in the waiting list cannot be considered as a right so as to claim appointment by way of submitting a representation. Thus, the writ petitioner has not established even a semblance of right, so as to consider the relief sought for in the present writ petition.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
