Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.12.2013 submitted with request to give equal pay on part with his junior, namely Shanthi, Headmaster, Panchayat Union Middle School Sanikaivadi, Chetpet Block, Thiruvannamalai District in the light of 2nd respondent letter by in his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.6018/B1/2013 dated 13.01.2014.

O R D E R

The petitioner was appointed initially as a Secondary Grade Teacher on 08.08.1984 and Subsequently he was promoted as Middle School B.T.Headmaster. Now he is working as Assistant Elementary Educational Officer at Thiruvannamalai District. The grievance of the petitioner is that one Shanthi, who is appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher on 25.03.1986 and subsequently promoted as B.T.Head Master in Sanikivadi Panchayat Union Middle School, Thiruvannamalai District, is receiving more pay than the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 05.12.2013 before the first respondent seeking to step up his pay on bar with his junior. In fact, the second respondent issued a proceedings in Na.Ka.No.6018/B1/2013 dated 13.01.2014 recommending to step up the pay of the petitioner on par with his junior and the same was sent to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the first respondent. Now the petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to dispose of his representation dated 05.12.2013.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3. This Court, in the light of the aforesaid letter of the second respondent dated 13.01.2014 and in view of the narrow prayer made, directs the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 05.12.2013 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
