ORDER

The prayer of the writ petition is to direct the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 19.03.2012, within the time limit to be stipulated by this Court.

According to the petitioner, the lands located in Survey Nos.661/4, 662/1, 662/3, 678/3 and 661/1, belong to one Abdul Basheer, Abdul Salam and P.M.Abdul Sukoor and patta was also issued in their favour. Subsequently, the said persons have executed a sale deed on 27.03.1969 by registered document No.326 of 1969 in favour of one V.Murugesan. Thereafter, the said Murugesan executed a sale deed dated 24.08.1978 by registered document Nos.792, 793 of 1978 in favour of one A.Rathinasamy and Irudhayamary, who are the father and mother of the petitioner herein. After the death of his parents, the petitioner along with two brothers became the absolute owner of the property purchased under the said sale deed.

3. On verification, according to the petitioner, it was found that the lands in S.Nos.661/4, 678/3 and 661/1 were converted into Government promoboke. It appears that the conversion of the lands into Government Promoboke is without giving notice to the petitioner. Therefore, a representation was submitted on 19.03.2012 to the respondent requesting them for transfer of patta in respect of lands in S.Nos.661/4, 678/3 and 661/1. However, till date, the said representation was not disposed of. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of writ of mandamus.

4. Since the scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition is limited and a direction is sought only for the

disposal of the representation made by the petitioner, for which, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent has no serious objection, this Court directs the respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation, said to have been made by the petitioner on 19.03.2012 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
