O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to provide adequate police protection for Shri Ponniamman and Shri Gangaiamman temple festival at Idharpuram Village, Vellore District to be held between 23.06.2019 to 25.06.2019.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made a representation dated 25.03.2019 to the respondents police with regard to give adequate police protection to Shri Ponniamman and Shri Gangaiamman temple festival at Idharpuram Village, Vellore District between 23.06.2019 to 25.06.2019. petitioner has filed the present petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court without going into the merits of the case directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, based on the nature of the request of the petitioner after giving opportunity of hearing to the 3rd respondent.

5. It is open to respondent police to put any restrictions or to impose any conditions purely in the interest of preserving public order and tranquility.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
