Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the third respondent to publish the petitioner's (AR Number 6703, Random Number 9390044025) merit rank immediately and allow him to participate in the Counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for the Academic Year 2015-2016.

ORDER
The petitioner is a student who wrote +2 Examination and his grievance is that his name has not been included in the merit list for selection to higher medical educational courses. What the petitioner seeks is to include his name in the merit list for the said selection. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4, submitted that the cut-off mark for the MBC category is 196.5 and the petitioner obtained only 187.5 for medical courses. This Court is not willing to go into the entitlement of the petitioner to get admitted into higher medical educational courses. The petitioner wants to place his name in the merit list.
Without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the third respondent-Selection Committee, Director of Medical Education, Chennai, to include the petitioner in the merit list as per the marks obtained by him, as per the rules and regulations governing the same and dispose of the representation dated 11.07.
2015 said to have been sent by the petitioner to the respondents for the above grievance, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order or within a period of four weeks from the date of production of a copy of this order by the petitioner along with a copy of the said representation, and if the petitioner gets selected as per the rules/regulations in that regard and placed in the merit list as per the instructions of the Selection Committee of the DME, which is strictly supposed to follow the same by also following the rules of the State Government in that regard and the petitioner shall be considered for appropriate placement in the course that he would become eligible for admission. No costs. The Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
