(The case has been heard through video conference) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the 3rd respondent to correct the extent of the property from 0.3.00 ares to 0.08 cents in a Patta for the property in Survey No.540/1C1, situated at Ponneri-II Village, Thiruvallur District granted in favour of petitioner.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, his mother had executed a settlement deed settling an extent of 0.08 cents in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Survey No.540/1C1, situated at Ponneri-II Village, Thiruvallur District. According to him, the Patta has been issued for lesser extent. Hence, he has made a representation to the 1st respondent District Collector. However, since the 3rd respondent Tahsildar is the competent authority to correct the mistake in the patta, the petitioner said to have made representation to the 1st respondent and only a copy of his representation was sent to 2nd and 3rd respondents.

3. In the above circumstances, the petitioner is directed to submit application before the 3rd respondent Tahsildar within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. After receipt of application, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass suitable orders on merits in accordance with law after hearing the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
