Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent herein to grant permission to conduct cultural programmes like Village folk dance, mimicry, music on 28.07.2015 at Sri Angalaparameswari Temple, Pudupai, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur District and to provide police protection for the same. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the elected President of Pudupai Panchayt, Vellakoil Taluk, Tiruppur District conducting Pongal Mahorsavam festival for Sri Angalaparameswari Amman Temple for 15 years and he submitted a representation/application dated 10.07.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program from 21.07.2015 to 30.07.2015, in connection with the festival of the said temple, which includes song and dance https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.M.Dig Vijaya Pandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 10.07.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders by 27.07.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.
