The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 406, 420, 468, 471 & 120B IPC, in Crime No.20 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.There is no representation for the petitioner. But, however, it is seen that there has been no representation even on 04.10.2023 and again on 06.11.2023.

3.Heard the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent. It is stated that the petitioner is A4 in Crime No.20 of 2023, registered under Sections 406, 420, 468, 471 & 120 B IPC. It is stated that he is the brother-in-law of A1. It is stated that the accused persons had offered jobs as Assistant District Commissioner and also fixed the rate. They had demanded Rs.12,50,000/- for the post of District Organizing Commissioner and Rs.10,50,000/- for the post of Assistant District Commissioner. It is stated that a sum of Rs.13,00,000/- had been transferred to the account of the petitioner herein.

4.Even though the learned counsel for the petitioner is absent, taking into consideration the seriousness of the offences and the fact that there has been a direct transfer of amount into the account of the petitioner herein, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
