Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus, calling for the records of the respondent in connection with the impugned order passed by the second respondent in No.53533/A1/2013 dated 05.06.2014 and quash the same and further direct the respondent to promote the petitioner as Assistant Inspector General of Registration and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits on par with his juniors.

The Government subsequently exonerated the petitioner from the charges. The Government have now passed an order in G.O(D)No.75 Commercial Taxes and Registration Department, dated 19.02.2015 promoting the petitioner to the post of Assistant Inspector General of Registration. In view of the subsequent events culminated in passing an order in G.O(D)No.75 Commercial Taxes and Registration Department, dated 19.02.2015 nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.

2. The learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner retired from service on 30.06.2014 and as such a direction should be issued to the respondents to pay him the benefits as expeditiously as possible.

3. Since the petitioner retired as early as on 30.06.2014 and the Government have now promoted him to the post of Assistant Inspector General of Registration by order dated 19.02.2015, necessarily, all the benefits should be paid to him as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
