This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to investigate and file a final report in respect of Crime No.444/2013 pending on the file of the respondent.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that on 04.08.2013, when there was a meeting of Youth Wing of the Party viz.,All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party and the Chief guest was the Education Minister, the Banners kept to welcome the Minister was torn by Chakravarthy, Muthukumar and Mukesh, who belonged to the same village and caused damage to the tune of Rs.50,000/-. Hence, a complaint was lodged and a case was registered in Crime No.444/2013 on the file of the respondent. The respondent, after registering the F.I.R., have not taken any steps either to investigate the case or file a final report for the past two years. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent Police is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.444 of 2013 pending on its file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
