O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the respondents to issue assignment patta to the petitioner for the property situated in Ka.Sa.No.16 and 145/1

admeasuring about 4 acres and 80 cents in Ikkrathathapalli Village, Sathyamangalam Taluk.

2. The petitioner was an Ex-Serviceman. The grievance of the petitioner is that, he was in possession and occupation of agricultural land to an extent of 4.80 acres within Survey No.16 and 145, situated at Ikkaraithathapalli village, Sathyamangalam Taluk, and he is also cultivating the land. Earlier, he has filed an application to the 2nd respondent District Collector seeking to assign the land in his favour as early as on 18.03.2021. On receipt of application, the 2nd respondent District Collector has also directed the 4th respondent Tahsildar, Sathyamangalam to submit a report. But, so far, no action was taken by the 2nd respondent and no order has been passed on it. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner.

Considering the limited prayer sought in the Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application and pass suitable orders on merits in accordance with law after giving opportunity to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
