Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.07.2015 to give permission for conducting cultural music and dance programme in the event of temple festival on 31.07.2015 at about 8.30 p.m. at Sathiyam Village, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District.

By consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner claims to be an Organiser of the Temple Festival relating to Sri Maha Mariamman Koil Temple, Sathiyam Village, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District and he submitted an application dated 17.07.2015 to the respondent praying for permission to conduct the cultural events which includes songs and dance to be https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

held on 31.07.2015. Since he has not been favoured with any response, he came forward with this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that in the event of permission granted by the respondent, there would not be any law and order problem and obscenity and vulgarity will not be there and prays for appropriate orders.

4. Heard the submissions of Mr.N.Roofus Abraham, Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5. This Court, without going into the merits of the application submitted by the petitioner, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 17.07.2015 and pass orders in accordance with law on or before 30.7.2015 and the respondent shall also communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

6. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. However, there is no order as to costs.
