The petitioner in this case has come to file this writ petition seeking for a writ of mandamus directing disposal of the representation first made on 15.03.2016 followed by another representation dated 20.08.2018 for re-fixation of his pay in the appropriate pay scale applicable to him. But such representation having not been disposed of by the respondent, he has come to file this writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that since the respondent is guilty of inaction in not disposing of his representation and hence, he has come to this Court seeking the aforesaid relief and as such, the writ petition be disposed of with necessary direction to the respondent to consider his representation.

The learned counsel appearing for respondents submits that if such representation is pending, the respondent shall take an informed decision in accordance with law within a resonable period but this Court should not put any fetter on the respondent to consider the representation in any particular manner.

Considering the facts and submissions made, this Court without seeking any reply affidavit dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondent to take an informed and considered decision on such representations of the petitioner in its own merit and in accordance with law, if the same is pending, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of such representation in any manner.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
