O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2022 and direct the respondent to issue the legal heir certificate in the name and gender of the petitioner within a time frame by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner is the transmen that is status of changing from female gender to male gender. Due to accident, the petitioner's father died on 30.10.2022. After completing all the death formalities, the petitioner and his family members filed a petition for compensation under Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal in MCOP No.539 of 2022 before the Small Causes Court, Chennai and the same was concluded and the petitioner and the petitioners family members have instructed to claim the compensation by producing the LR's certificate. When the petitioner approached the respondent for issuance of legal heir certificate with the additional request to change the name and gender as Yuvarani @ Mara Transgender and the same is not considered the same. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. In such view of the matter, this Court directs the respondent to issue legal heir certificate to the petitioner by mentioning the petitioner's name as Yuvarani @ Mara (Third gender), if the petitioner is eligible, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
