Mr.S.N.Parthasarathy, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 11.01.2018, wherein and whereby, he sought for issuance of patta in his favour in respect of the property bearing Old Door No.1, New Door No.2A, V.O.C.Street, Teynampet, Chennai-600 018, in Survey No.378/72 (Part), Block No.74, measuring 560 sq.ft.

3. It is stated that the petitioner is in possession of the subject matter property. It is further stated that the petitioner has submitted an application dated 11.01.2018 to the respondent, seeking for issuance of patta in respect of the above said property. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said application has not been considered by the respondent so far. Hence, the present writ petition.

5. This Court at this stage is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 11.01.2018 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner and other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
