This petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings initiated as against the petitioner pursuant to the charge memo in Na.Ka.A1/26962/2019 dated 14.11.2019 within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 1st respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings initiated as against the petitioner pursuant to the charge memo in Na.Ka.A1/26962/2019 dated 14.11.2019 within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court."

2. The case of the petitioner is that while he was serving as a Deputy Tahsildar (Judicial Training) a charge memo under Rule 17 (b) was issued by the 1st respondent on 14.11.2019. The petitioner would submit that the charges framed are baseless and without proper verification. The petitioner submitted his detailed explanation denying all the charges.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the Enquiry Officer has concluded his enquiry and submitted the enquiry report before the 1st respondent on 18.12.2023, for passing necessary orders. However, to date orders have not been passed. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking into consideration the fact that the enquiry report has been filed as early as on 18.12.2023, the 1st respondent is directed to dispose of the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner, within a period of 1 month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
