O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to issue a mandamus, forbearing the respondents from interfering with the festival games including draw of lots proposed to be held on 25.10.2018 in the Arulmigu Kottai Maariamman temple, Perundurai, Erode District.

2. On 06.09.2018, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on instructions submitted that the Executive Officer of the Temple in question is the competent authority to consider the representation of the petitioner.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the H.R & C.E Department, on instructions submitted that the petitioner's representation would be considered by the Executive Officer of the Temple, on merits and in accordance with law.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the respective counsels, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation dated 24.08.2018 along with the copy of this order within two weeks from today to the Executive Officer and on such submission, the Executive Officer, Arulmigu Kottai Maariamman Temple, Perundurai, Erode District, shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks thereafter.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
