The above Civil Revision Petition is filed seeking speedy disposal of the suit OS.No.2018 of 2023 pending on the file of the VI Assistant City Civil Court, Chennai.

2. The contention of the plaintiff is that the defendant has been adopting dilatory tactics to prolong the suit. The petitioner would submit that the matter has been posted for trial since 27.06.2024, and PW.1 was examined and Ex.A.1 to A.3 were marked on 04.03.2025. Thereafter, the case was adjourned to 12.03.2025 for the cross-examination of PW.1. On 12.03.2025, the matter was adjourned to 18.03.2025 since, the defendant's side did not appear though the witness was present. Subsequently, on 18.03.2025, the matter was once again adjourned as the learned Judge was on casual leave.

3. The petitioner would submit that the suit is one for recovery of possession and the defendant is continuing to squat on the property without even paying the rent and therefore the delay in disposing of the suit is causing great injustice to him.

4. Heard the counsel for the petitioner and perused the records.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking into account the fact that PW.1 has been examined in chief and Ex.A.1 to A.3 have been marked, the Civil Revision Petition is allowed. The learned VI Assistant City Civil Court, Chennai is directed to dispose of the suit OS.No.2018 of 2023 within a period of 9 months from the date of 2/4

receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
