PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing Respondents 1 to 3 herein to direct the Secretary, D.G.Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai - 600 106 and the Secretaries of the Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav Senior Secondary School (KPCVSS), Arumbakkam, Chennai and the SMJV Higher Secondary School, the 4th, 5th and 6th respondents herein not to create any more new thoroughfare in adjacent wall in between 5th and 6th respondents schools on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 13.09.2017.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed seeking directions on the concerned respondents not to create any thoroughfare in between the schools of the fifth and sixth respondents.
2. In the entire writ petition, the petitioners have not adverted to the violation of any law, rule or regulation in creating a thoroughfare. If the land is held by the concerned educational institutions and if there is no contravention of any law, it is not for the residents to decide how many gates, how many entry points the educational institution should have. There apparently is no public interest involved and the petitioners have not been able to substantiate their contention that the creation of an extra entrance and/or thoroughfare will aggravate the traffic situation in the locality. The writ petition is, thus, dismissed.
No costs.
