Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 and 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2021 and to issue death certificate to the petitioner's husband late K.Ramesh by mentioning cause of death as COVID-19.

ORDER

Mr.G.Krishnaraja, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself.

2.This writ petition has been filed to issue a mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2021 and to issue death certificate to the petitioner's husband late K.Ramesh by mentioning cause of death as 'COVID-19'.

3.According to the petitioner, her husband died on 29.04.2021 due to COVID-19. Therefore, she has sent a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 on 20.05.2021 claiming the same relief as prayed in this writ petition, but the said representation is yet to be disposed of by the respondents. Hence, this writ petition.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

5.Considering the limited relief sought in this writ petition, this Court directs the respondents 3 and 4 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2021 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
