ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, challenging the impugned order dated 09.02.2026 and the impugned refusal check slip dated 10.02.2026 issued by the first respondent, refusing to register the settlement deed presented by the petitioner for registration.

2. The impugned order is a speaking order. However, the petitioner categorically contends before this Court that there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to register the settlement deed presented by the petitioner for registration. The petitioner has also filed supporting documents along with this writ petition in support of her contentions. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the same.

3. Since the impugned order is a speaking order, the question of entertaining this writ petition does not arise as the petitioner will have to exhaust the statutory appellate remedy available to the petitioner if aggrieved by the impugned order. Under Section 72 of the Registration Act, the petitioner is having the statutory right to file the statutory appeal as against the impugned orders.

4. For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to file the statutory appeal before the statutory appellate authority

(District Registrar, Tiruvallur) as per the provisions of Section 72 of the Registration Act as against the impugned order dated 09.02.2026 and the impugned refusal check slip dated 10.02.2026 issued by the first respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On presentation of the statutory appeal by the petitioner, within the stipulated time, the statutory appellate authority shall dispose of the said appeal on merits and in accordance with law and by adhering to the principles of natural justice after giving due consider to the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner as well as the contentions raised by the petitioner in this writ petition within a period of four weeks thereafter.

5. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
