ORDER

Transfer Petition filed praying to withdraw the HMOP.No.214 of 2025 on the file of the Sub Court at Poonamallee and transfer the same to the Sub Court Cheyyar.

2. The petitioner has raised the following ground in her affidavit: "14. I state that no action was taken on my complaint by the Meranam Police Officials. Though I made several requests, the respondent refused to take me and my children with him. Hence, for sustaining my life and to bring up my only child, I have filed a maintenance petition in M.C. No. 15 of 2024 before the Sub Court, Cheyyar, and the same is pending.

17. I state that, if I am required to attend the proceedings before the Sub Court, Poonamallee, I have to travel more than 120 kilometres by borrowing money from friends and close relatives. I am unable to travel alone and have to seek the assistance of my aged father, besides incurring substantial expenses towards travel and other incidental costs. I have no independent source of income except for the support extended by my aged father and relatives. Travelling such a long distance with my child and aged father, while incurring considerable expenditure, places me in an extremely difficult position."

3. The reasons stated by the petitioner are justifiable. Though notice was served on the respondent, there is no representation on his behalf.

4. Accordingly, the matter is ordered to be transferred to the Sub Court, Cheyyar. Considering that the respondent has not paid any maintenance amount so far and that the petitioner is dependent upon her aged parents, the

respondent/husband is directed to pay a sum of Rs.12,000/- per month as interim maintenance to the wife and child until further modification by the competent Court.

5. Upon receipt of the records and after taking the case on file, the Sub Court, Cheyyar, is directed to issue notice to the respondent within a period of four weeks and thereafter proceed with the matter in accordance with law.

6. With the above observations, this petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 15-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order MPA To
