O R D E R
The petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking for a direction, directing the respondents to register a case, based on the complaint given by him dated 08.01.2016.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has given a complaint to the Commissioner of Police, Chennai on 08.01.2016, but he was directed to approach the 2nd respondent. Thereafter, when the petitioner has approached the 2nd respondent, he was directed to appear before the jurisdictional police station. However, till date no action had been taken to register a case and hence, the petitioner has come forward with this petition for the above stated relief. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. Heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
4. A perusal of the typed set of papers would go to show that the petitioner has given a complaint on 08.01.2016 to the LIC Housing Finance Ltd., Saidapet, Chennai and no document has been produced to the effect that the complaint has been given to the respondent police.
5. In such circumstances, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. It is open to the petitioner to give a proper complaint to the jurisdictional police station and on receipt of the same, the jurisdictional police is directed to expedite the enquiry and follow the dictum laid down in Lalitha Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P & others [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC) and register a case, if any cognizable offence is made out.
