Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2026, and consequently to confirm the pattas issued in petitioners favour and to give effect to the cancellation of earlier pattas granted to 129 persons, and further direct the respondents to provide police protection to enable petitioners to peacefully proceed with the construction and enjoyment of petitioners respective houses, and to restrain third parties from in any manner interfering with our peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to confirm the pattas issued in favour of the petitioners for the respective properties morefully disclosed in the documents filed along with this writ petition and to give effect to the cancellation of the earlier pattas granted to 129 persons for the very same properties, based on the petitioners' representation, dated 16.03.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 5 and Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 6 and 7.

3. According to the petitioners, they were issued free house site pattas for the properties morefully disclosed in the documents filed along with this writ petition in the year 2020. According to them, till date, the same has not been given effect to in the revenue records of the respondents. According to them, the earlier pattas issued in favour of 129 Page No.4 of 9

persons for the very same properties have not been cancelled. Since the representation of the petitioners, dated 16.03.2026 has not been considered, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.

4. The petitioners have filed supporting documents along with this writ petition in respect of the petitioners' representation, dated 16.03.2026. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the said representation.

5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioners' representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioners, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 1st respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioners' representation, dated 16.03.2026 seeking confirmation of the alleged pattas issued in favour of the Page No.5 of 9

respective petitioners for the properties morefully disclosed in the documents filed along with this writ petition and to give effect to the cancellation of the earlier pattas for the very same properties in favour of 129 persons, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioners, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
