ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to conduct a Joint Sitting to clear the audit objections raised by the 4th respondent / The Regional Joint Director, Local Fund Audit Department, Chengalpattu District, relating to the audit objections raised.

2.It had been contended that the petitioner who had been initially appointed as Junior Engineer in the Municipal Administration Department

had been continuously working for more than 37 years and is due to retire on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.05.2025. It had been stated that the audit objections had been raised by the 4th respondent for which the petitioner had given an explanation. That particular explanation will have to be examined on a Joint Sitting conducted by the respondents. Since the petitioner is to retire on 31.05.2025, he had sought a Mandamus that the Joint Sitting should be done at the earliest, so that it would not prejudice the interest of the petitioner.

3.A direction is given to the respondents that the Joint Sitting should be held on or before 21.05.2025 and any decision taken therein must be conveyed to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
