According to the petitioner, they are the Ads Promoter, having registered with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India vide certificate of registration dated 09.03.2017. While so, by orders dated 26.02.2021, the respondent issued licence to the petitioner for displaying advertisement of 500 buses, 630 buses and 400 buses. Due to pandemic situation, the transport operation was suspended and the petitioner did not display any advertisement. However, they have to pay monthly licence fee. Hence, they submitted a representation dated 09.06.2021 to the respondent seeking permission to make licence fee only in respect of the buses where the advertisement is carried on. petitioner sent a reminder on 16.06.2021 to the respondent. But, there was no response on the same. Therefore, they have come up with this writ petition seeking a mandamus to the respondent to consider the said representation.
2.Heard Mr.M.Gnanasekar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondent.
3.Having regard to the limited relief sought herein, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.06.2021 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
