PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to ensure safety and security to the devotees and villagers for smooth functioning of Kumbabishegam at A/m Maha Mariamman Temple, Asakalthur Village, Kallakurichi District on 06.04.2026 pursuant to the peace committee proceedings in Na.Ka.No.A1/838/2026 dated 18.03.2026 issued by the 3rd Respondent and pass such suitable or further orders. ORDER

This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to ensure safety and security to the devotees and villagers for the smooth conduct of the Kumbabishegam at Arulmigu Maha Mariamman Temple, Asakalthur Village, Kallakurichi District, scheduled to be held on 06.04.2026, pursuant to the Peace Committee proceedings in Na.Ka.No.A1/838/2026 dated 18.03.2026 issued by the third Respondent.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the order of this Court dated 09.04.2026 has been complied with and that a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted on

27.04.2026. It is further submitted that, as per the resolution arrived at by both parties in the said meeting, the Kumbabishegam is to be conducted on 02.07.2026.

3. In view of the above submission, this Court directs the second respondent to provide adequate police protection for the smooth conduct of the Kumbabishegam scheduled to be held on 02.07.2026 at Arulmigu Maha Mariamman Temple, Asakalthur Village, Kallakurichi District, in accordance with the resolution arrived at by both parties in the Peace Committee Meeting.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected writ miscellaneous petition (criminal) is closed.
