The present Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the respondent in his proceedings No.Nil, dated 30.01.2023 and quash the same and consequently, direct the respondent to receive the property tax treating the petitioner's premises bearing Door Nos.20A, 20B, 20C, Eswaran Koil Street, Tindivanam, Villupuram District as single property and remove the seal in the petitioner's premises.
2. When the matter came up for hearing on 20.06.2023, the learned counsel for the respondent sought time for filing counter and hence, the matter was directed to be listed on 21.07.2023. But, till date, the respondent has not filed counter.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the property of the petitioner was sealed by the respondent for due of the property tax, which comes around Rs.1,00,000/-. On instructions, he would submit that the petitioner is ready to deposit any amount that may be directed by this Court towards due of the property tax.
4. Considering the facts and circumstance of the case, this Court 2 of Page 4
directs the petitioner to deposit a sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) towards dues of the property tax before the respondent within a period of one (1) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of such deposit, the respondent is directed to remove the seal in the petitioner's premises within two (2) days.
With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
