Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to consider the representation dated 17.04.2024 and immediately shift the detenue Nagendran S/o.Ponnusamy Lifer C.No.1236 now confined at Central Prison, Vellore to RELA Hospital, Chrompet Chennai - 600 044.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) After passing final orders directing the respondents to take the life prisoner Nagendran S/o. Ponnusamy (Convict No.1236) for medical check up to the RELA Hospital, Chrompet, Chennai - 600 044, the matter is listed today for recording compliance of the order dated 18.04.2024.

2. Mr.M.Babu Muthumeeran, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions submitted that the prisoner Nagendran S/o.Ponnusamy (C.No.1236) was taken up for medical treatment today i.e., 24.04.2024 and he has been admitted as an inpatient for a period of three days and that he has also been provided with escort.

3. Mr.R.Sankarasubbu, the learned counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the petitioner/wife of the life prisoner, may be permitted to

be the attendant of the life prisoner at the RELA Hospital, Chrompet, Chennai -600 044.

4. On instruction, Mr.M.Babu Muthumeeran, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, submitted that he has no objection.

5. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, no further orders are required in this writ petition. The petitioner herein is at liberty to be the attendant of the life prisoner, during the treatment at the Hospital as an inpatient. Accordingly, this writ petition stands closed.
