Respondents Prayers: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd and 3rd respondents to pass appropriate orders for reserving the Ward No.1 of Thanjavur City Municipal Corporation Council by allotting Women category or any other reserved category and to adopt proper rotation to conduct Local Body Election in respect of Ward No.1 in Women Category or any other reserved category by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 03.04.2017, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. The petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to pass appropriate orders for reserving the Ward No.1 of Thanjavur City Municipal Corporation Council by allotting Women category or any other reserved category and to adopt proper rotation to conduct Local Body Election in respect of Ward No.1 in Women Category or any other reserved category by considering his representation dated 03.04.2017 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it is suffice, if a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the said representation of the petitioner.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the said representation will be considered, on merits and in accordance with law.
4. In the light of the facts and circumstances of the case, and also taking into account the limited scope of the prayed made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.04.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunities to all necessary parties, within a period of 12 weeks.
