O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed, seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to issue patta in respect of the land in S.No.12 of T.Gollapatti Village, Denkanikottai Taluk, in favour of the petitioner, based on his representation, dated 22.03.2016.

2. According to the petitioner, he belongs to Hindu Adi Dravidar community and his family has been in possession of land

to an extent of 1 1⁄2 acres in S.No.12 of T.Gollapatti Village, Denkanikottai Taluk, and the said land has been classified as Natham Poramboke. The petitioner would further state that for the past 70 years, his ancestors were in possession of the said property and after their demise, he is in continuous possession and enjoyment of the land and, hence, he is entitled for issuance of a patta. In that regard, he also made a representation, dated 22.03.2016, to the respondents, but, however, the same has not been considered and disposed of by the respondents so far and, therefore, he has approached this Court by way of this Writ Petition.

3. Heard Mr.M.Selvam, learned counsel for the petitioner; and Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader, for the respondents.

4. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, considering the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.03.2016, and pass appropriate orders on merit and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
