Heard the Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and the Learned Counsel for the Respondents.

The petitioner herein, on 12.06.2018, has given a complaint to the Inspector General of Registration, Chennai, alleging that the property which he purchased through valid duly registered deed on 05.11.2008 has been illegally registered to third parties in the name of S.Rajasekaran, a power agent of the petitioner. According to the petitioner, the power of attorney given to S.Rajasekaran and his nominee Sundhar Bharadhwaj was cancelled through the intimation letter dated 16.09.2014. Therefore, he has sought for cancellation of those documents. Whether the petitioner has any right to unilaterally cancel the power of attorney or not is entirely different illegal issue. However, the respondents 1 to 3, ought to have passed some order on the representation given by the petitioner, which has failed to do, even after lapse of more than one year.

In such circumstances, without adverting to the merits and facts, the 1st respondent/Inspector General of Registration, Chennai, is directed to dispose of the complaint, dated 12.06.2018 in accordance with law and communicate the action taken on the complaint to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
