Mr.P.Venkatesan .. Petitioner Vs.

R.Ramani .. Respondent This case is taken up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Ms.M.Jeeva, learned counsel for the Petitioner and Mr.G.Poon Kumar, learned counsel for the respondent are present before this Court. TERMS OF SETTLEMENT Both the parties along with their respective counsel were present.

2. Aggrieved by the concurrent judgments passed by the Trial Court as well as by the Appellate Court, directing the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.1,45,000/- with interest at the rate of 9% per annum from the date of dishonour of the cheque, the petitioner P.Venkatesan has preferred the present Criminal Revision Case 794 of 2023.

3. With the guidance of the Lok Adalat, both the parties conciliated and compromised the issues arisen in this case.

4. As per the compromise, the petitioner has agreed to pay a sum of Rs.2,35,000/- to the respondent herein on or before 20.12.2023. The respondent has also agreed to receive the said amount.

5. The petitioner has also paid a sum of Rs.35,000/- out of Rs.2,35,000/- agreed between the parties by way of cash to the respondent who also received it.

6. In terms of the above settlement arrived at between the parties, the balance amount of Rs.2,00,000/- shall be paid by the petitioner to the respondent by way of Demand Draft on or before 20.12.2023.

7. In view of the above settlement arrived at between the parties, the conviction and sentence passed by the courts below are set aside and this Criminal Revision Case stands closed.
